DESCRIPTION – London: “The City”: Financial Center
London is a city with an extraordinary balance between tradition and modernity, in which it does not matter how many times someone has visited it, because there will always be a building or neighborhood to discover and enjoy. It is an avant-garde city in relation to architecture, a fascinating destination, especially after the 2012 Olympic Games, which left its citizens a legacy of very important and very interesting urban transformations at the architectural level.
The capital does not present any predominant architectural style, but rather it is a city where different eras have left their mark. In it we can visit from classical works the work of some of the most influential architects of the twentieth century. In reference to contemporary architecture, London has much to offer. From factories converted into museums, to skyscrapers and the remodeling of the dock, turning degraded areas into new trendy neighborhoods.
Great local architects like Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid and Richard Rogers have been decisive in the most emblematic works. However, we also find a great work of architects from foreign architects who have wanted to make their mark in the city, such as Arne Jacobsen, Herzog and de Meuron, Daniel Libeskind and César Pelli.
In this guided visit through the financial center of London, which is known by “The City”, you will be able to see and discover the high skyscrapers and the contemporary architecture from this central area of London.
