DESCRIPTION – Lisbon: Axis of museums
Lisbon has a large axis of museums with different architectural styles from very different eras. In this guided tour by a professional architect we will discover some of them.
We will start on the MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology), an innovative project that brings together a new building, designed by the architect Amanda Levete, then we will see the Tejo Power Station and the Museu da Electricidade, an example of Portuguese industrial architecture from the first half of the 20th century.
After that we will head to the Museu dos Coches from the architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha who said “the Museum has no doors and relates to all of its surroundings”. The project is more than a museum; in the end it functions as an urban infrastructure providing a public utility space for the city. We will end the itinerary at the CCB – Centro Cultural de Belém and with the examples of Classical architecture like the famous Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery.
Enjoy this tour in Lisbon oriented to design, urban planning and architecture, perfect for architecture lovers, experts and professionals as well as groups, student trips and study trips.
