DESCRIPTION – Bilbao: River, Deusto and Guggenheim
The most impresive area of the “new Bilbao” is Abandoibarra with its must-see Guggenheim Museum. Also, the walking tour guided by an architect will include the Bilbao Townhall (Joaquin Rucoba – Extension (2010) IMB), the Oteiza‘s Sculpture “Variante ovoide de desocupación de la esfera”, the Campo Volantin and the “Pasarela Zubizuri “ by Santiago Calatrava.
We will see the Isozaki residencial Towers before to reach the Guggenheim Museum by Frank Gehry. Optional Interior visit to Guggenheim (1 hour). Outside, Louise Borgoise’s “Mum Spider” sculpture and “Puppy” scupture by Jeff Koons will complete the visit. Another interesting stops are Hotel Sheraton by Ricardo Legorreta, “Pasarela Pedro Arrupem “ bridge, Iberdrola Tower by Cesar Pelli, Deusto University by Rafael Moneo and the “Paraninfo” of the UPV University by Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza. The tour will end at the Euskalduna (Congress Centre – Music Hall) by Soriano and Palacios.
