DESCRIPTION – Yucatán: Mérida – Contemporary Architecture

To visit the city of Mérida is to get into a city full of history, dreams and hidden magic in every corner. Mérida is a mix between contemporary city and Mayan and colonial history. Architects like Augusto Quijano have placed Mérida in an important place in the country in terms of contemporary architecture and good taste, but we can also visit the old streets and buildings transferred to our time in a masterly manner. To travel through Mérida is to take a trip back in time.

On our guided tour by an architect we will visit the Olimpo Cultural Center and the San Benito Market, both by architect Augusto Quijano Axle. We will also visit the Great Museum of the Mayan World of Enrique Duarte Aznar, and we will visit Paseo Montejo, with its large houses and contemporary buildings. We will visit the Canton Palace, the Hacienda Xcanatun, the magnificent Cathedral and the main square.

Enjoy this guided visit in the city of Mérida (Yucatán, Mexico), where you will see its contemporary architecture. Our tours are focused on architecture and urbanism and they are perfect for architecture lovers, experts and professionals as well as groups and student trips. Enjoy with Artchitectours guided visits around the world, made by professional guide-architects who will come along with us throughout the itinerary.
