DESCRIPTION – Vienna – Seaside Town of Aspern
With around 240 hectares, the Seestadt Aspern is one of the largest urban development areas in Europe. Connected to a subway that will take you directly to the city center, the multifunctional district is to be completed by 2028 with apartments, offices and a commercial, scientific, research and educational district.
Among other things, there is already one of the tallest wooden houses in the world, a completely new type of education campus and countless residential buildings by renowned architects. There is an artificial lake in the heart of the district, which gives the area the name – Seestadt (lake-town).
In this tour guided by an architect you will see an urban planning overview of the development and further development of the satellite city with interesting wooden buildings by Querkraft, a school by Fasch & Fuchs, and residential buildings by Vienna’s leading architects.
