Project Description

The city of the Biennale

Nowadays, Venice, the city of the lagoon, is, above all, the capital of the Biennale that has made it, for all year round, a favorite destination for contemporary art and architecture.

Venice has many historic architectural styles among which Gothic Venice highlights Gothic mix with Ottoman and Byzantine style. Nor should you miss the contemporary architecture of Carlo Scarpa, Cino Zucchi and outstanding examples of international architects such as the bridge over the Grand Canal of Santiago Calatrava and the museum Punta della Dogana in Tadao Ando. On the other hand, also the constructions of the pavilions of the different countries for the Biennale designed by modern and contemporary stars like Alvar Alto, Bruno Giacometti and many others stand out strongly. In short, Venice is an ideal destination for lovers of historic, modern and contemporary architecture.
