The monumental capital of Iran
Tehran is a large metropolis and one of the largest cities in the Middle East. The capital of Iran stands out for its location between mountains and also, although there are some old buildings, by the most monumental modern architecture of the 20th century, especially after the 1979 Islamic revolution.
In the city we can find modern buildings before the revolution of Houshang Seyhoun, Kamran Diba and Hossein Amanat that extended the horizons of traditional Persian architecture with modern designs. Amanat’s Freedom Tower is the best example of this. During the last years we can say that Tehran lives a real architectural renaissance that has led to the construction of many new buildings such as the Termeh offices, the Mosha house, the Kahrizak building and the Tabiat bridge among others. All this gives an undoubted air of modernity to the Iranian capital and makes it a very attractive destination to admire its architecture.
