TOURS IN TBILISI

City of thermal waters and silk

Discover our tours in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, a sovereign country located on the coast of the Black Sea and bordering Eastern Europe and Western Asia.  This city was key during the Silk Road thanks to its strategic position between Europe and Asia making it today an important industrial, social and cultural center as well as a transit route for global energy and trade. The city’s architecture is a mixture of local (Georgian) and Byzantine, Neoclassical, Modernist, Fine Arts, Middle Eastern and Soviet styles; although Tbilisi is most notable for its abundance of Art Nouveau buildings and details (common to Sololaki and Chughureti).

In our tours around Tibilisi, we will explore its narrow streets, colorful houses, carved balconies, old neighborhoods and excellent examples of modern architecture. We will see from Meteji Church and enjoy the spectacular view of the Old Town. We will visit the main places of interest of the city passing through the old Fortress of Narikala, we will visit the historic Sulphur Baths, where the name of the capital comes from.

We will see from a distance the Ministry of the Interior, true architectural treasures such as the Music Centre and the Bridge of Peace (architect M.D. Lucchi). We will continue to the Tbilisi Concert Hall and explore the exterior of this incredible out-of-use building. We will enjoy a panoramic view of the presidential residence just before an exceptional visit to the Tbilisi Palace of Justice, one of the architectural gems ever built in Georgia. This flower-shaped building was built by Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas and is considered the largest courthouse ever built in the world. We will continue to Liberty Square for a view of the Panorama Tbilisi Hotel which will be on a hill from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city with the exterior of the Museum of Fine Arts and Shalva Amiranashvili at your disposal.

A walk along Rustaveli Avenue, to see the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel and the Biltmore Hotel. Next in these tours through Tbilisi we will explore the modern architecture of Tbilisi by walking along Aghmashenebeli Avenue to discover the Georgian architecture of the nineteenth century where we will see the old road networks of the Ministry of Tbilisi dating from the Soviet era and is considered the ugliest building but more interesting from the architectural point of view.
