Project Description

City of rich history and heritage

Seville was founded as the Roman city of Hispalis in the 8th century A.D. on the banks of the Guadalquivir river.  The town was later ruled by the Moorish for more than 800 years, signs of which are more than evident till today.

Capital of Andalusia, Seville retains the charm of cities with history. This history can be seen in the huge number of buildings and monuments that are World Heritage, in the neighborhoods of Santa Cruz, El Arenal and Triana and in its beautiful streets full of light. A wide variety of cultures have been present in the city’s history.

Its architecture presents a monumental wealth of great value and gathers characteristics of the successive cultures that have occupied the city. In many buildings you can appreciate the influence of the Arabs, who for several centuries inhabited the city and left a lot of cultural inheritance in architecture, design, art, gastronomy and even in the Spanish language.

In addition to the large number of buildings that constitute the city’s heritage, there are a number of contemporary constructions that have sparked the interest of architects during their trips to Seville. Creations such as the famous Metropol Parasol by J. Meyer and sustainable buildings, such as the Center Palmas Altas (Richard Rogers), the Seville Sacred Art Business Park (Suarez & Santas Architects) and the offices building in Avenida Ramón y Cajal (Hombre de Piedra Arquitectos).

We also find some interesting housing projects by young architects, who seek the best space utilization and the best original aesthetic solutions. In Seville you will discover unique buildings that manage, with economy and precision, natural and economic resources.
