Project Description

Wine, gulls and architecture

Located next to the mouth of the river Duero in the north of Portugal, Porto is the second largest city in the country. Known for the wine of the same name, it houses several wineries on the banks of the Douro River. It is a dynamic city and offers a vibrant nightlife thanks to the countless students who live there. Porto has an extensive historical heritage and in 1996, its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

In Porto, we will find architectural examples from different periods, we point out Baroque and contemporary architecture. A beautiful example is Rem Koolhas House of Music. Alvaro Siza, author of the project of the Faculty of Architecture of Porto and Eduardo Souto de Moura, author of Casa Nevogilde and the subway station Casa de la Música, as well as works, they also have their studies in the city.
