Located next to the mouth of the Duoro River in the north of Portugal, Porto is the second largest city in the country. It has 15 freguesias, equivalent to neighborhoods or parishes, and is known for its churches, trams and wine of the same name, since it houses several wineries on the banks of the Douro River. It is a port and dynamic city, that offers a vibrant nightlife thanks to the countless students who live there. Porto has an extensive historical heritage and in 1996, its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
