Project Description

PORTO ALEGRE

An architectural museum

Porto Alegre is located on the banks of the Guaiba River, in the region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The city is a great architectural museum in itself, since in the center of the city we find mixed styles of the last two centuries, although it emphasizes the German architectural influence, with urbanistic proposals of environmental conservation and contemporary architecture.

Among its most recent buildings are the Iberê Camargo Foundation by Alvaro Siza, MooMAA Wastewater pumping station, Procter-Rihl Architects’ Slice House, Bernardo de Magalhaes and Lívia Fonseca’s Paderie and OSPA’s Aeromovel Arquitectura y Urbanismo, among others. Porto Alegre is a university city, so it has a lot of life and is constantly changing.
