Project Description
MONTEVIDEO
A Creative City
In Uruguay we find Montevideo, a cosmopolitan city with an architecture that shows a colonial and neoclassical style that mixes with the modern architecture and Art Decó that arose during the golden era of the country in the XX century. Because of the immigration of Europeans to Uruguay, in the old part of the city we find facades with clear influences of European architecture.
Although the country suffered one of the worst banking crisis in 2002, thanks to the neighboring countries they managed to return to economic development, ending projects such as the WTC and the Telecommunications Tower, which would become two of the highest skyscrapers of South America. As for contemporary architecture, we also find the BVO ARQ Corporate Santander Office Building, the Friendship Park of Marcelo Roux and Gastón Cuña and the Montevideo Ice Cream Shop by Dovat & Asoc Architects, among many others.
Choose from one of our tours in Montevideo oriented to design, urban planning and architecture in Barcelona, or request that one of our architects prepare a customized itinerary. All our guides are professional architects, who will be happy to prepare your tailor made itinerary. From Artchitectours we can organize your private tour to Montevideo, study trip or incentive trip as well.
