TOURS IN CASABLANCA
Art Deco at the shores of the Mediterranean
Casablanca stands out for the planned design of its VilleNouvelle, designed by the French architect Henri Prost, an outstanding model of urban expansion of the time. This district with its Art Deco and Andalusian buildings is a must see. The French influence is a lsonoted on Boulevard Mohammed V in the old heart of the city and in the famous Rialto cinema theater.
But it is not necessary to forget the Islamic architecture, like the impressive Hassan II mosque completed in 1993, built by the French architect Michel Pinseau, who has one of the highest minarets in theworld. In it you can appreciate the design of thousands of craftsmenduring a lustrum. Not to forget the Mahkama du Pacha, anotherjewel of the 1950’s Moroccanarchitecture. Outside the Islamic architecture you should not miss the Église du Sacré-Coeur withitsfascinating mix of Gothic and Art Deco. In short, Casablanca offers much more than traditionalMoroccan and Islamicarchitecture and has an Art Deco side that will amaze.
