DESCRIPTION – São Paulo: Modernism
Modernism in Brazil has its initial frame with the realization of the Week of Modern Art, in February 1922 in São Paulo. The group of artists formed by painters, musicians and writers wanted to bring the influences of the European avant-garde to the Brazilian culture.
On our guided tour with a professional architect we would see famous architectural works by local architects such as SESC Pompeya and MASP by Lina Bo Bardi, FAU by architect João Batista Vilanova Artigas, Copan and Memorial of Latin America, the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer and many other important buildings in the city center of one of the biggest, most populated and most important cities of Brazil.
