DESCRIPTION – Rio de Janeiro: Urban Configuration and Landscape
Rio de Janeiro is the main touristic destination in the Southern Hemisphere and the second most populated city in Brazil, as well as one of the main economic and cultural centers in the country. It is internationally known for its unmissible like Pão de Açúcar, the statue of Christ Redeemer, the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana and its famous Carnival.
In terms of urban design and architecture, the work of Brazilian urban and landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx stands out. His most famous work is probably the undulating design of the streets of Atlantic Avenue, which is now a logo of the city. We cannot forget the work of recently deceased Oscar Niemeyer who had his studio in Rio.
We offer Panoramic tour with private bus to understand the urban configuration, the different neighborhoods and the natural/geographical aspects which limits and imposes the city´s landscape.
