DESCRIPTION – Paris: Rive Gauche (Left Bank)
One of the most ambitious projects of twenty first century Paris is the renewal of the industrial area around the rail shaft and Austerlitz Station, to transform it into a new urban space which combines key residential and entertainment areas. In this itinerary we propose a tour of one of the developed areas in this project called Paris Left Bank, beginning it with a visit to one of the most spectacular buildings of the presidency of François Mitterrand, the National Library.
We will continue through the neighborhood and its new residential buildings to the French Cinematheque by Gehry Partners and Dominique Brard. We will see the new gangways over the Seine by the Feichtinger Architectes, the Palai Omnisports by Andrault-Parrat, and the School of Architecture of the renowned architect, Frédéric Borel.
Following the course of the Seine, we will see the building of the Ministry of Economy by Paul Chemetov and Borja Huidobro and the recent renewal of the Batellerieby J.B. Lacoudre. We will finish the tour in the City of Fashion and Design.
Enjoy this amazing tour in Paris and discover the area of the Rive Gauche with one of our guide-architects. Our local experts will organize the best itinerary to suit your interests.
