DESCRIPTION – Brasilia: Axis and Monumental Modernism
Brasilia is known all over the word for having applied the principles established by the Athens Charter of 1933. Its construction began in 1956, with the urban planner Lucio Costa and the main architect Oscar Niemeyer. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. It’s the only city built in the twentieth century which has received this honor.
With a guide-architect from Artchitectours, you will be able to enjoy this magnificent city, so representative for Brazilian’s Architecture and Urbanism.
This tour will be focused on its main avenue: the Monumental Axis. It concentrates most of its main Modernists buildings. Discover in Brasilia this guided tour with a professional architect who will join us throughout all the itinerary. You will discover the modern architecture from the city.
“…who goes to Brasilia may like its palaces or not, but cannot say that have seen something like this before. And architecture is this – invention”. Oscar Niemeyer.
