DESCRIPTION – Madrid: Social Housing

Madrid is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with some good projects in Social Housing. Despite the current crisis in construction, in recent years the Administration has developed several projects that make this city always worth a visit. We will visit the projects developed on the periphery. The construction of social housing has received numerous awards for its quality, innovation and sustainability. The most prestigious architects have projected promotions in the districts of Vallecas, Carabanchel or Sanchinarro.

Departure in private transporte to Carabanchel where we will visit the PAU housing in Carabanchel: Dosmasuno arquitectos (2008), ACM arquitectura (2010), FOA (2007), Aranguren & Gallegos (2004), Thom Mayne (2008). Lunch break (optional): Picnic in Madrid Río (West8 + Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos Asociados, Porras La Casta Arquitectos, Rubio & Álvarez-Sala). Then we will go to Villaverde: Housing by Chipperfield & Fernandez Isla (2009). Visit to PAU housing in Vallecas: Viviendas de Estudio Entresitio, Araujo y Brieva Ecobulevar Vallecas (Belinda Tato) y San Chinarro: Mirador / Celosía (MVRDV y Blanca Lleó).

TOUR MADRID – SOCIAL HOUSING

Dear Fernanda,

Thank you again for the organisation!  Natalie was/is amazing!!!  We can only highly recommend her for future tours.

We had an intense but amazing time!

I left the headphones at the reception as agreed on. We did unfortunately loose one part of one headphone set. Just send us the receipt and we will pay for the loss. Apologies!

Thanks again and hear from you soon!

Warm regards from Madrid,

Maja
