DESCRIPTION – Madrid: Skyscrapers
The Cuatro Torres Business Area (CTBA) is a park centrally located in the entrepreneurial part alongside Paseo de la Castellana. The park is built over the old Ciudad Deportiva (Sports City) del Real Madrid. The group of property owners of the four towers decided to adopt a new image and now there are two towers and the park is referred to las Cuatro Torres Business Area.
The area consists of four tall buildings which are the highest structures in Madrid and Spain. The buildings are Torre Caja Madrid (the tallest at 250 meters), the Torre Sacyr Vallehermoso, the Torre Cristal and the Torre Espacio. Two of those towers are also referred as the Puerta de Europa, otherwise known as Torres KIO.
Actually, at AZCA, you could see some of the largest, modern and emblematic skyscrapers of Madrid. For example, Banco Bilbao tower, Europa Tower, Picasso Tower of Mutua Madrileña. Buildings by Cesar Pelli, Norman Foster, Phillip Johnson and John Burgee or Sáenz de Oiza will be seen on this tour.
