TOURS IN LISBON
The effects of Expo’98
Enjoy one of our architecture tours in Lisbon and discover the modern architecture of the city by a professional local architect that will show you and explain the most significant details of the art and architecture of the capital of Portugal.
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is the richest and most populated city in the country and is situated at the mouth of the Tagus River to the Atlantic Ocean. With an architecture that mixes the traditional heritage with an impressive modernism, the city hosts a large number of international events and congresses every year, being therefore world famous.
The contemporary and modern architecture of Lisbon focuses on the Expo’98 (which starred) and from which began a remodeling of the city. Architects like Santiago Calatrava and Álvaro Siza Vieira devised large constructions for the Expo’98, such as Oriente Station and Portugal Pavilion. Still, other architects and their constructions like Aires Mateus (with Mar do Oriente) and João Pedro Falcão De Campos (with Bar à Margem) among others, have contributed to this remodeling of the city.
Choose from one of our Lisbon tours geared towards design, urban planning and architecture, or ask one of our architects to prepare a customized itinerary for your visit to Lisbon. All our guides are professional architects.

Comments from our clients
It was a perfect Friday. Thanks for an excellent service from Artchitectours-group.
The guide was better than we could ever expect. She was doing a professional job and was as a person a very likeable character.
So, our best recommendation.
As a plus she showed us Fundaçao Champalimaud which was a brilliant idea.
We just ended our tour about an hour again and we all very much enjoyed it! The students were very appreciative and the guide was great at giving us relevant information and explain the context for each project we saw! We could not have been happier with the outcome!
Thank you again for helping us organize this tour!
