Guanajuato is a state of central Mexico known to be the cradle of the country’s independence. In its capital, of the same name, is the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, where the first battle with Spain took place in the 19th century.
The old mining town is also famous for its cobblestone, sloping lanes, full of colonial architecture and charming garden squares, such as the Garden of the Union. The visit of the city itself is very informative because it is a historical center, we discovered the Monument of Pípila, the tunnels of the old residential zone, the Valencianas mine, Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the Diego Rivera House Museum and the Museum of Mummies.
The Cervantino International Festival, known as “El Cervantino”, is a festival held since 1972 in the city of Guanajuato, in the region of Bajío in Mexico.
