A nice day trip from Guadalajara is to visit this special archaeological site of ‘los guachimontones’ in Teuchitlán. Teuchitlán represents one of the first settlement systems with a civilised lifestyle in this area.

The circular structures, over two thousand years old are found in the midst of the central valleys of Jalisco. These great archaeolgical ruins are at one and a half hours to the west of Guadalajara, in an area surrounded by hills and mountains. The excellent museum through the archaeological site of the homesteads, presents temples and artifacts of these ancient peoples.

On the other side from the village there is a lake with several nice restaurants. One of the better ones is the restaurant called Soky. In Guadalajara, you can observe many towers , their framework are amazing, the Guadalajara Cathedral, the Degollado Theatre, and the Atoning Temple.
