DESCRIPTION – Berlin: City Center
In this architecture tour through the city center of Berlin you will be able to enjoy the splendid architecture from the capital of Germany. Berlin has much to see; on our short tour through the center we can see buildings from diverse historical periods. Contrasts that will make us appreciate the distinct architectural periods of the city, accompanied by our guide-architect.
We will begin at the GMP Central Train Station and in a short walk we will arrive at the government zone with the Chancellery by Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank as the main building.
Then we will continue on foot through the center, passing by the Bradenburg Bridge, the entrance to Tiergarten Park, the famous “Unter den linden” Avenue, the DZ Bank by Frank Gehry and the Holocaust Memorial by Peter Eisenman. Walking around the edge of the park, we will arrive at the Instruments Museum and the Philharmonic by Hans Scharoun.
Walking with our architect-guide by the distinct buildings of Potsdam Square, which include examples from Renzo Piano, Rafael Moneo and Richard Rogers. We can also see the Neue Gallery by German master Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
On another short walk we will see the details of the city’s urban plan, arriving at the famous Checkpoint Charlie with the GSW Building by Sauerbruch Hutton, among other buildings. Nearby, we can see the Jewish Museum by Daniel Liebeskind. To finish our tour, we will go up to the dome of Reichstag by Paul Wallot and Norman Foster, where we will have a panoramic view of the city.
