OPEN CALL TO PROPOSE WALKS OF THE 6TH EDITION OF JANE’S WALK SEVILLE

We invite you to suggest and / or lead a citizen tour within the framework of this initiative, which will be held on May 4 and 5 (yes, it falls in Feria, but that was never a problem). The 6th edition of Jane’s Walk Sevilla is here!

It is an annual initiative that takes place around the world to honor the urban thinker Jane Jacobs, consisting of a series of walks around the city with a group of people, led by volunteer guides who want to show and discuss some area or theme related to the urban space. The walks, which normally last about 90 minutes, are as varied as the people who participate in them; we only ask each guide to offer their point of view along the route and to encourage attendees to participate by chatting and sharing ideas about their communities.

We will be receiving proposals for tours until April 26, do you have any ideas about it? Similarly, we encourage you to forward this email, inviting those people or groups that seem interesting to you to guide a trip: associations of neighbors and neighbors, people linked to history, literature, urbanism, art, the university and other areas of urban life.

To date, and under the broad umbrella of Jane’s Walk Sevilla, 72 rides have been made that, together, make up a great route of more than 175 kilometers. A conversation that has lasted more than 170 hours, running through 87 neighborhoods and with the collaboration of more than 160 volunteer guides representing 90 groups and associations, along with the involvement of more than 1,800 people in its 5 life editions. On our facebook page you can follow the news of these tours, and on our website you can expand the information on this and previous editions.

We’ll see you on the streets!
