Project Description

TURIN

Post-industrial transformation

Turin is a city well known for its Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical and Modernist architecture. However, it also hides a little known side of modern and contemporary architecture resulting from the transformation of the industrial heritage of the city that is worth knowing.

Pier Luigi Nervi and Carlo Mollino are some of the architects who have built in the city some of the most outstanding works of modern Italian architecture. On the other hand, in Turin the contemporary Italian architecture has in Renzo Piano a very good representative with the monumental reconversion of the Factory Lingotto of Fiat. Do not miss buildings like the impressive M.Au.To designed by Cino Zucchi. The city is immersed in a fascinating process of urban and architectural transformation since in 1995 Vittorio Gregotti designed its lines. All this makes of Turin a very interesting place to witness the process of transformation of the cities towards a postindustrial model.
