TOURS IN OSLO

The architectural avant-garde of the North

Oslo, the capital of Norway, has a very diverse architecture and is undergoing a new urban and architectural development to take into account. In 2008 the city’s new urban vision was presented in London with the award-winning Oslo Opera House, the remodeling of the sea front, the Munch / Stenersen and the new Deichman Library. This milestone began a new architectural era and the city has seen as it proliferated in it buildings truly surprising both local architects and international talent. Nor should we forget the Oslo Architecture Triennale, the largest architectural festival in the north and one of the most important places for the dissemination and discussion of new architectural and urban ideas.

A must see is the new AstrupFearnleyMusem of Modern Art designed by Renzo Piano in the trendy district of Tjuvnholmen, which has to be visited in its entirety by its buildings that show the current tendencies of architecture, the premier Mortensrud church of Jensen & SkodvinArchitects, the interesting Norwegian Center for Design and Architecture and the modern district of Vulkan with the innovative design of its sustainable architecture, among others. Oslo really has it all for those interested in modern and contemporary architecture.
